Ski Teams Record Impressive State Qualifiers
BATTLE CREEK PARK -- Feb. 7, 2024 -- The Stillwater Area High School ski teams recently found success at sectional competitions and now advance as Minnesota State High School League state tournament qualifiers.
The girls' nordic team opened with an outstanding performance as a trio of Ponies finished in the top-6, while its relay crew defeated Forest Lake. On the boys' side of competition, three student-athletes placed in the top-10 individually, along with a first place relay finish.
In alpine competition, both teams added third place finishes in Section 4, with Macie Neubauer claiming the girls individual title and Cash Jaeger taking second on the boys side. Joining Macie and Cash at the State Tournament are individual qualifiers Ethan Stabenow and Paige Stabenow.
Hosted at Giant's Ridge in Biwabik, Minn., the MSHSL State Tournament kicks off on Tuesday, Feb. 13 with individual alpine competition, followed by nordic team competition on Feb. 14-15.
