Stillwater Area High School’s thespians stole the show last night at the Spotlight Showcase - Minnesota high school theatre’s biggest celebration! A group of Pony actors entertained the large crowd with a medley from Chicago.
Several Stillwater students also received special recognition during the awards program and recognition event, presented by Hennepin Theatre Trust’s Spotlight Education program. Senior Elise Karlstad received the Triple Threat Award for her outstanding singing, acting and dancing.
Senior Cecelia deLeon was selected as the national representative to cover the The Jimmy Awards - the country’s top high school performance recognition. She will be traveling to New York City later this month to attend the event. In addition, Stillwater Theatre received a Community Engagement award, and theatre director Grif Sadow was presented with the 2022 Theater Educator Award
