NCAA College Bound Athletes

Make sure you're ready to compete at the next level

Are you interested in practicing, competing and receiving an athletic scholarship during your first year of college at a Division I or II school?  Meet with your counselor to make sure you are academically eligible. 

This guide answers important questions for four groups of people involved in the NCAA initial-eligibility process:

  • High school students who hope to compete in college sports at an NCAA Division I or II school 
  • Parents, guardians and family members of high school students
  • High school counselors and athletics administrators
  • High school and non-scholastic coaches

National Signing Day Celebrations

Nov. 13, 2024: Division I & Division II Athletic Scholarship Athletes
Dec. 4, 2024: Division I Football Scholarship Athletes
Feb. 5, 2025: Division I & Division II Athletic Scholarship Athletes + NAIA Athletic Scholarship Athletes
April 16, 2025: Division I, Division II Athletic Scholarship Athletes + Division III Commits
 

DIVISION I & DIVISION II ATHLETIC SCHOLARSHIP ATHLETES

  • Students receiving an Athletic Scholarship (not an Academic Scholarship) from a Division I or Division II Institution that would like participate in the celebration and photos, must notify the Activities Office by Nov. 8, Nov. 29, Jan. 31 or April 10. In an email, include the name of the student, college attending and sport. Student-athletes will receive confirmation and an electronic form to complete.

  • Paperwork is provided directly to the student by the college and should be completed by the student-athlete and his or her parent/guardian at home.
  • If assistance is needed to scan or fax the paperwork to the college, the Activities Office is happy to assist in the process.
  • Group and individual photos are taken at 7 a.m. on Signing Days. 
  • Photos and student bio information is then submitted to the Stillwater Gazette and the Stillwater Area Public School District Communications Department for posting.
  • Parents/Guardians may attend to take photos. Please enter SAHS via Door 11W.
  • Please Note: This is not a formal ceremony.

SAHS DIVISION III STUDENT-ATHLETES
SAHS STUDENTS SIGNING WITH NAIA DIVISION I OR DIVISION II COLLEGES:

  • Students planning to submit a celebratory signing form and would like to participate in photos must notify the Activities Office by April 10
  • In an email, please include the name of the student, college attending and sport.
  • DIII students sign a NCAA provided, non-binding celebratory signing form after the prospective student-athlete has been accepted to the institution.
  • Paperwork is provided directly to the student by the college and should be completed by the student-athlete and his or her parent/guardian at home.
  • If assistance is needed to scan or fax the paperwork to the college, the Activities Office is happy to assist in the process.
  • Group and individual photos are taken at 7 a.m. on Signing Days. Information is then submitted to the Stillwater Gazette and School District Communications Department for posting.
  • Parents/Guardians may attend to take photos. Please enter SAHS via Door 11W.
